Regional Co-operation and Best Practices in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova

There are many positive efforts and initiatives taking place in Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine with regards to education for democratic citizenship and human rights education. This was highlighted in February in Kyiv, when 23 experienced education professionals representing various institutions met to discuss how to promote a practical approach to democratic citizenship and human rights education in schools, including the dissemination and use of relevant Council of Europe tools and materials.

The regional seminar marked the start for the new EWC project “Regional Cooperation and Dissemination of Best Practices in Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova” which aims to strengthen the cooperation and dissemination of practices between the three countries.

The workshop will be followed by a range of activities at a national level, where the participants will work with schools on education for democracy and human rights, including the development of civic competences.

A midterm-evaluation meeting will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia in October 2019. Here, the participants will share best practices and lessons learned, and it will also bring together some of the schools that the group has been working with. The final results will be presented during a conference in Ukraine in June 2020.
